BATW? Not so much.
June, and its companion month of July, see two of our brightest stars sharing their work. Renowned photographer Mort Beebe just hosted an extraordinary visual event on June 20 with his images of India and this month it’s Christopher P. Baker’s turn. The premier authority on travel to Cuba speaks at a BATW-hosted event at Book Passage on July 18.
This is what we do. For over 35 years, the Bay Area Travel Writers have held compelling monthly meetings designed to teach and inspire. Our work doesn’t stop just because it is summer.
Naturally, it takes many hands to make a group like ours hum. This is where we really shine. Every month, members pitch in to plan meetings, refreshments, publicity, logistics and more.
And our associate members aren’t sitting on the sidelines either. This year, fully half of our monthly meetings are being planned and hosted by Associates. These meetings feed us unique story ideas and a variety of first-hand experiences that we wouldn’t get without BATW.
Highlights in the second half of the year include September’s Gold Country press trip, October’s hosted meeting in San Jose, November’s Marketplace Mingle with our PR partners and a grand end-of-the-year celebration hosted by Mammoth Lakes Tourism.
June swoon? Not BATW. We’ll be hitting home runs through December.
